Established in 2015, Words Speech Therapy is dedicated to helping children and adults develop their communication skills and participate more confidently in everyday life.
Our team of qualified, Sri Lanka Medical Council-registered speech-language therapists brings together professional expertise, compassion and a genuine commitment to each individual and family we support.
We believe that effective speech and language therapy goes beyond the therapy room. Parents, families and teachers are essential partners in the therapeutic journey. By working together, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for communication and learning in everyday environments.
We also value collaboration with other healthcare and education professionals, including doctors, occupational therapists, behaviour specialists and teachers. This collaborative approach enables us to provide coordinated, individualised and inclusive support that responds to each person's unique strengths and needs.
At Words Speech Therapy, our goal is not simply to develop speech and language skills, but to help individuals communicate meaningfully, build connections and participate fully in everyday life.

Hello, and welcome to Words Speech Therapy!
I established Words Speech Therapy in 2015 with a vision of making quality speech and language therapy more accessible to children and families in Sri Lanka.
My journey in the profession began with my undergraduate studies in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Bangalore University, India, followed by postgraduate studies in Speech-Language Pathology. In 2025, I completed my PhD in Speech-Language Therapy at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
My experience working with children and families across clinical and educational settings helped me recognise the importance of listening to families, understanding each child’s unique skills and needs and providing support that is meaningful in everyday life. These beliefs became the foundation of Words Speech Therapy.
Over the years, what began as a personal commitment has grown into a team of dedicated speech-language therapists and a network of branches serving families across Sri Lanka. We now offer services in several locations, that include Mount Lavinia, Negombo, Panadura and Kurunegala. Through our online programme, we have also extended our services to Sri Lankan families living abroad, helping them access speech and language therapy and parent coaching wherever they are.
At Words Speech Therapy, we believe that meaningful progress happens when therapists, families and people involved with the child work together. Our aim is to support communication and help each individual participate fully in everyday life.
